A strong partner for communities

As a local employer, we are engaged in many ways in the communities and regions in which we are located. It is our primary goal to promote existing community involvement and to initiate projects that contribute to a better understanding of the society.

Strong civil society with the Zolling citizens' fund

“Strengthening social and voluntary commitment”. That is the motto of the Zolling power plant’s citizens’ fund. Since 2013, our Bavarian power plant site has issued an annual call for proposals for the financial support of civil society projects in the region. The aim of the fund is to stimulate local activities and explicitly support projects that could not otherwise be realised without the power plant’s donation. The focus lies on projects supporting children and young people, sports, culture and the environment. Most recently, the Citizens’ Fund 2022 was distributed with a funding amount of 20,000 euros.

Social, cultural and educational projects in the north of Bremen

At our location in the north of Bremen, we support various activities of the Blumenthal Civic Foundation. This foundation supports social, cultural and educational projects in the Blumenthal district. Most recently, with the support of Onyx Power and other local actors, the foundation organised a two-day open-air concert with numerous local artists on the grounds of the former Bremen wool combing factory, which is now a culture centre.
